CLINTON SELLS TOP SECRET ENCRYPTION TECHNOLOGY TO ENEMY
EditorialCongress has asked the Justice Department to investigate whether Bill Clinton sold encryption software to Chinese Communists in return for campaign contributions.
Specifically, the House Judiciary Committee has asked for an investigation of the transfer of "advanced encryption software" to a U.S-Chinese joint venture in 1994 "despite the opposition from technical experts at the National Security Agency and the Pentagon."
The year 1994 was the same year the federal government was pursuing an investigation of mathematician Phil Zimmermann for posting his encryption software "Pretty Good Privacy" to the Internet. Federal agents claimed that Zimmermann had violated the International Trafficking in Arms Regulations that prohibits the export of cryptographic applications with key lengths above 40 bits.
The government finally relented in 1995 after three years of investigation in the face of mounting public criticism. After all, the only "crime" committed by Zimmermann was to post his software on the Internet so that other Americans could use it. Had he sold it to the Chinese government, on the other hand, he would have faced severe punishment for arms trafficking.
Yet selling encryption software to Chinese Communists for campaign contributions seems to be exactly what Bill Clinton has done. Why does he not face severe punishment for arms trafficking? Because there is no equal justice in America. The Justice Department is run by Bill Clinton and it spends most of its effort covering up his crimes with the help of willing disinformation agents in the mainstream media. That is why you didn't hear a word of this serious treason scandal in the government-sanctioned media.
Predictably, House Judiciary Committee chairman Henry Hyde lamented last week that his "distress with the Justice Department is increasing," and pointed out that several Congressmen are pressuring him to start impeachment proceedings.
